Outdoor furniture use is at your own discretion. Whilst beeswax and oil polish is applied that is weatherproof. Temperature variations, sunlight and water will break down most preservatives given time. Old weathered pieces of timber that have already survived these elements make better outdoor furniture that looks more fit for purpose but is not always readily obtainable.

If you do wish to leave a furniture item outdoors it is recommended that a preservative oil finish is applied each autumn.

The choice is therefore yours to make.

Beyond a 15 miles radius I may charge a fee to deliver to your door.

Maximum distance delivered is 50 miles. Further than that a courier service or collection in person is my suggestion to you.

You are welcome to collect your purchase from my workshop in person, subject to full settlement of cleared funds appearing in my bank account in advance. Alternatively payment in cash on collection is equally acceptable.

NO VAT is chargeable since I am not registered for VAT. I will issue you with an invoice/receipt if required.

Commissions are undertaken on the followings terms :

  1. Your clear and specific sketch showing approximate sizes of the item will be required. Your preference of wood species is also helpful if known. On completion you will be notified of a convenient date and time for collection or delivery.

  2. Newly made rustic furniture should not be placed close to a source of heat such as a log burner or radiator. Rapid drying can cause splitting or warping of timber even if it is already seasoned. Even kiln dried timber can re-absorb moisture and later dry out from its natural state of moisture content.

  3. Every endeavour will be made to provide a soundly made piece of furniture that will give you many years of service and be treasured. I invest my best efforts in time and handy-work towards this end. However, If you are not entirely satisfied with the item it can be returned to me within 21 days (undamaged and in a saleable condition) for a refund which will be made to you, once the item has been re-sold elsewhere, less a handling charge of 10%.
